Financial Help for Educators – Deadline Approaching
An MTA-backed initiative offers loan repayment options, scholarships and other financial resources for working educators and students enrolled in educator preparation programs. The deadline for Tomorrow’s Teachers applications is Nov. 18. Both programs are funded by the state budget and administered by the state’s Office of Student Financial Assistance. Resources also are available for early childhood educators and paraprofessionals.

Congratulations to Honor Our Own Award Recipients
MTA Retired members Kenneth Kalen and Elaine Koury are the recipients of the 2024 Honor Our Own Award. Kalen is a former teacher at Gibbons Elementary School in Stoughton. Koury, a founder of the Retired Wisdom Warriors, was a longtime English and performing arts teacher in Boston and Cambridge.

Learn More About Artificial Intelligence at Brainstorm
The MTA Training and Professional Learning Division will host Brainstorm, Conversations on AI in Public Education, on Nov. 16. Join fellow members for a day of discussion about the promises and problems of AI and large language model software in our schools, colleges and universities.
