Fighting for the Conditions Educators Deserve—Today and for the Educators of Tomorrow
We believe in taking collective action to ensure the collective good. When we raise our voices, we help every educator get the support they need to join, stay, and thrive in our profession.
We need and deserve fair salaries and benefits. We need and deserve safe workplaces that respect who we are and what we bring to our students. We need and deserve the right to demand change. Let’s redefine the workplace—together.

Financial Aid for Educators

The MTA’s Tomorrow’s Educators initiative establishes a loan repayment program for practicing educators and funding for candidates enrolled in educator preparation programs. Both programs, proposed by the MTA and funded in the state budget, are administered by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

United, We All Benefit Unions are needed to stand up to the wealthy special interests whose policies undermine public education and the common good.

Legal Resources

The MTA maintains a well-regarded in-house “law firm” comprising lawyers, paralegals and administrative/legal support workers.

Paid Family and Medical Leave

MTA is supporting the fight for the right to Paid Family and Medical Leave—ensuring they can take time off to care for a new child, a family member, or themselves without risking their financial security. This fight is about protecting workers, supporting families, and giving educators the stability they deserve while advancing equity in the workplace.
